Brescia's Santa Giulia Hosts Major Dada Centenary Exhibition
The centenary of Dada was commemorated throughout Europe in 2016, featuring Manifesta11 and various events in Zurich. Highlights included Dadaglobe Reconstructed at Kunsthaus, a collaboration with MoMA New York, and Dada Universal at Museo Nazionale, along with the Dada-Data webumentary and the Dada Festival. The largest retrospective of Jean Arp in Italy took place at Rome's Terme di Diocleziano. Brescia's Museo di Santa Giulia showcased "Dada 1916. La nascita dell'antiarte," which presented artists such as Tristan Tzara and Marcel Duchamp. Curated by Francesco Tedeschi and Elena Di Raddo, the exhibition featured a film series at Cinema Nuovo Eden and included around sixty restored pieces, including Duchamp's "Frames" and Man Ray's "Boardwalk."
