Brescia's Renaissance masters showcased at National Museum in Warsaw

exhibition · 2026-05-05

The exhibition 'Brescia. The Renaissance in Northern Italy' at the National Museum in Warsaw showcases 16th-century artworks from the Brescian school, many of which are being displayed in Poland for the first time. It begins with Raphael's 'Christ Blessing' alongside a study of 'Madonna of the Pinks' from the Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo in Brescia. The exhibit features thematic sections contrasting Vincenzo Foppa's starkness with Luca Mombello's ornate style, works by Leonardo da Vinci's followers like Giovanni Busi and Titian, and a dedicated area for Lorenzo Lotto, including 'The Holy Family with Saint Catherine' from Accademia Carrara in Bergamo. Curated by Joanna Kilian, this exhibition will be open until August 28, 2016.
