Brescia Hosts Major Guido Crepax Retrospective Spanning 1953–2003

exhibition · 2026-04-26

A major retrospective on Italian comic master Guido Crepax opens at the Museo di Santa Giulia in Brescia from September 30, 2025, to February 15, 2026. Curated by Alberto Fiz and Ilaria Bignotti with Camilla Remondina, the exhibition titled "Guido Crepax. Sogni, Giochi, Valentina. 1953-2003" is billed as the first comprehensive survey of the artist's creativity. It features 150 works, some never exhibited before, arranged in seven thematic sections. While Valentina—Crepax's iconic character modeled on Louise Brooks and his wife Luisa—takes center stage, the show also highlights his passion for music (over 300 record covers), television, cinema, and theater, including costumes for Paolo Scheriani's Salomé and Mario Martone's production of Alban Berg's Lulu. The exhibition is promoted by Fondazione Brescia Musei in collaboration with the Archivio Crepax.
