Brera Design District 2017 Fuorisalone Focuses on Gamification

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

The eighth edition of the Brera Design District will take place from April 4 to 9, 2017, during Milan Design Week. The district expands from Porta Nuova–Gae Aulenti to via Broletto, via Legnano, and via Montenapoleone, following the boundaries of the DUC Brera. The theme is gamification, inspired by Bruno Munari's phrase 'Progettare è un gioco, giocare un progetto' (Designing is a game, playing a project). The 2017 Lezioni di Design award goes to Fabio Viola, a top-10 gamification designer who coordinates the Gamification and Engagement Design course at IED Milan. The district currently lists 130 events, aiming to surpass last year's 168 events, 295 companies, and 250,000 visitors. New venues include Eataly Smeraldo in piazza XXV Aprile, hosting a Marble Machine by dotdotdot. space&interiors contributes with an installation at The Mall Porta Nuova, designed by Migliore+Servetto Architects, featuring an Archicocktails lounge and the Absolute Lightness exhibition.
