Brent Sikkema Gallery Archives Document Chelsea Exhibitions from 2004-2005

In 2004 and 2005, the Brent Sikkema Gallery, located at 530 West 22nd Street in New York, showcased a variety of exhibitions. From June 10 to July 17, 2004, Burt Barr displayed three expertly crafted video pieces, recognized for their humor and cinematic allusions. James Hyde's exhibition continued until February 5, alongside Jeff Gauntt's work. Kara Walker's drawings were on view until July 25, coinciding with Lisa Yuskavage's show at Marianne Boesky Gallery nearby. Merlin James featured canvases with holes, prompting a visitor to remark, "I like the hole thing." Other artists included Shahzia Sikander and Magnus von Plessen. Concurrently, Chelsea galleries hosted Robert Gober, Harriet Shorr, Petah Coyne, Diana Thater, and Cecily Brown, among others.
