Multiple Brazilian institutions have launched open calls for residencies, acquisitions, and awards, aiming to diversify artistic discourse and support professionals. The MAM Rio opened its third edition of the Residency Program on May 2, offering grants up to R$5,000. It includes the Germinadora residency for public and private school students aged 16-18, running from June 18 to December 9, 2022, with a monthly stipend of R$500. The Incluir residency selects two people with disabilities involved in art, education, or museums, offering two-month hybrid programs with R$2,500 monthly grants. Applications for both close on May 23. The Complexo Cultural Rampa in Rio Grande do Norte has an open call from April 15 to May 30 to acquire eight works for R$20,000 each, with at least three from local artists. The 8th Prêmio Artes Tomie Ohtake will select 10 women artists for a collective exhibition, offering R$5,000 per project, with applications open until May 26. The Mirante Xique-Xique (MXX) in Bahia's Chapada Diamantina National Park has open applications until May 1 for its 2022/2023 Research Residencies, with periods from August 12 to October 31, 2022 (R$2,800) and January 12 to March 31, 2023 (R$3,500).
