Brazilian Galleries at Frieze New York 2022
From May 19 to 22, Frieze New York will feature six Brazilian galleries at The Shed, backed by Projeto Latitude, a collaboration between ABACT and ApexBrasil. Fortes D'Aloia & Gabriel will showcase 'Pulse', highlighting new creations by Efrain Almeida, Leda Catunda, Jac Leirner, Rivane Neuenschwander, Janaina Tschäpe, and Yuli Yamagata, along with works from Alair Gomes, Sergej Jensen, Robert Mapplethorpe, Ernesto Neto, Adriana Varejão, and Bárbara Wagner & Benjamin de Burca. Marilia Razuk and Jaqueline Martins will present 'De uma vez: provocação e reflexão', focusing on the dialogue between José Leonilson and Hudinilson Jr. Mendes Wood DM will feature artists recontextualizing the Global South, including Solange Pessoa and Paulo Nimer Pjota. Sé Galeria will display Rebecca Sharp's surrealist art, while A Gentil Carioca will host Vinicius Gerheim's first international solo exhibition at Independent Art Fair. Gomide & Co will present works by Mira Schendel and others at TEFAF New York.
