Brasília Curator Gisele Lima Wins OMA Gallery's First National Curatorial Award
Gisele Lima, a curator from Brasília, has won the inaugural OMA Curatorial Award with her project "Métricas da cidade de Brasília." The award, announced during SP-Arte/Foto in August, aims to stimulate young curators across Brazil. Lima's proposal is for a collective exhibition featuring artists Gustavo Silvamaral, Guilherme Moreira, and João Trevisan. It focuses on the singular colors and forms of the capital's architecture and the reverberation of belonging in a modernist, politically charged setting. The selected project will close the gallery's annual exhibition calendar, supported by a 5,000 reais prize. Gallery owner Thomaz Pacheco expressed surprise at the quality and national reach of submissions. The exhibition "Métrica" is scheduled for late November. OMA Galeria has established itself as a leading contemporary art space in Brazil.
