Brancusi Exhibition in Berlin Draws Over 320,000 Visitors

The Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin concluded its exhibition of Constantin Brancusi's sculptures on August 9, having attracted more than 320,000 visitors, making it one of the most visited shows in the museum's history. The exhibition, which opened in March, was the first comprehensive Brancusi show in Germany in over 50 years. It was made possible by the renovation of the Centre Pompidou in Paris, which houses many of Brancusi's works. The show ranked alongside other blockbuster exhibitions at the museum since 1968, including 'Das MoMA in Berlin' (2004), 'Die schönsten Franzosen kommen aus New York' (2007), and a Gerhard Richter retrospective in 2012. Brancusi, born in Romania, is considered a pioneer of modern sculpture. Following this exhibition, the Neue Nationalgalerie will present 'Night' starting September 10, featuring works by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan.
