Brancacci Art Gallery Opens in Medieval Church in Florence

On April 13, 2023, the Brancacci Art Gallery officially opens its doors within a former medieval church located in Florence's Piazza del Carmine, which is part of the Santa Maria del Carmine complex. Established by Jacopo Ciglia, Patrizio Lari, and Claudio Lari, the gallery is managed by Ilaria Magni, with Margherita Banchi serving as the curator. Transitioning from a branch of Oblong Contemporary Art Gallery since October 2022, it now emphasizes bronze sculpture, figurative painting, and experimental art. The space features a steel mezzanine from the 1990s designed by Italo Rota. The inaugural exhibition showcases artists like Antonio Signorini and Gianfranco Meggiato, with a public opening set for April 18, highlighting the blend of tradition and global influences in art.
