BRAFA Art Fair Celebrates 65th Anniversary with Berlin Wall Auction
BRAFA Art Fair, one of the world's oldest art fairs, marks its 65th edition in 2020 with a special charity auction of five segments of the Berlin Wall. The fair, held at Tour & Taxis in Brussels from January 26 to February 2, 2020, was founded in 1956 by the Association Foire des Antiquaires de Belgique, predating even the Paris Biennale. Originally focused on antiques and fine arts, it now includes contemporary art. This year, for the first time, four Italian dealers participate: Paolo Antonacci, W. Apolloni, Nardi, and Dalton Somaré, joining a strong Italian contingent of ten galleries. The auction proceeds will be split among cancer research, social integration for disabled people, and artistic heritage. Harold t’Kint de Roodenbeke, President of the Association, announced the initiative during a press conference at The Warehouse, the third space of Galerie Maruani Mercier in Zaventem. The fair features 133 exhibitors total.
