BRAFA 2026 Opens in Brussels with Record 147 Galleries and Rediscovered Rubens
The 71st BRAFA will take place from January 25 to February 1, 2026, at Brussels Expo, featuring an unprecedented 147 exhibitors. Klaas Muller, the president, hopes to surpass last year's attendance of 72,000 visitors. The King Baudouin Foundation will serve as the guest of honor, highlighting the importance of cultural heritage. A standout piece is the rediscovered Portrait of an Old Man (circa 1609), credited to Peter Paul Rubens. New participants include Arte-Fact Fine Art, Galerie la Ménagerie, Virginie Devillez Fine Art, Carlucci Gallery, Pron, and Almine Rech. Douwes Fine Art and De Jonckheere will present Old Masters. Additional highlights feature works by Jacob Jordaens, Yves Klein, and Ai Weiwei. Significant sales include Renoir's Woman in a Landscape for €385,000 and Chagall's Winter at €485,000.
