Bouchra Khalili, Mathieu Pernot, Paul Graham: Photography of Migration and Social Documentary

exhibition · 2026-04-23

In the autumn of 2012, Paris hosts three photography exhibitions centered on migration and social documentary. Bouchra Khalili's inaugural solo exhibition, 'Wet Feet and More,' at Galerie Polaris (8 Sep–27 Oct 2012), delves into immigration, showcasing human movements from Miami to Paris and from Hamburg to the Mediterranean, featuring pieces like 'The Constellations' and videos that highlight the struggles of migrants. At Galerie Éric Dupont (8 Sep–20 Oct 2012), Mathieu Pernot's 'Les Migrants' presents a haunting image of Afghan bodies alongside depictions of life remnants in a forest and migrants resting in Paris. Meanwhile, Paul Graham's dual exhibition 'Beyond Caring' (1984-85) and 'The Present' (2011) at Le Bal (14 Sep–9 Dec 2012) juxtaposes revolutionary approaches to capturing unemployment and street life.
