Bottom Up! festival launches crowdfunding for 13 urban regeneration projects in Turin

architecture-design · 2026-04-27

Launched in November 2019 by the Ordine degli Architetti and Fondazione per l’architettura / Torino, the Bottom Up! architecture festival has kicked off a crowdfunding initiative aimed at 13 urban regeneration projects driven by community involvement. Curated by Maurizio Cilli and Stefano Mirti, the festival utilized Facebook Live to connect with audiences during the pandemic. Among the chosen projects are: the Risorgimento Social Club, a vast agricultural park in Mirafiori; Cortile Mondo, a food truck located at Porta Palazzo; and Wall Coming! at the Ferrante Aporti juvenile prison, among others. The funding targets vary from €6,000 to €25,000, and the campaign will run until November 3, culminating at GreenPea, Oscar Farinetti's eco-sustainable shopping venue. Eleonora Gerbotto, the foundation's director, noted interest from Mexico City.
