Botto&Bruno's 'The ballad of forgotten places' at EMST Athens
The Fondazione Merz is currently featuring a project called The Ballad of Forgotten Places by artists Gianfranco Botto, born in 1963 in Turin, and Roberta Bruno, born in 1966 in the same city. This initiative won the Italian Council's third edition in 2018, which is organized by the DGAAP under the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities to enhance the global presence of contemporary Italian art. The installation, located at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens (EMST), creatively portrays an urban ruin, sparking memories of neglected spaces. An artist's book accompanies the exhibit, showcasing photographs collected by Botto&Bruno over time. After Athens, the project will travel to Madrid and Lisbon, eventually settling at the Musei Reali di Torino in May 2019.
