Botto & Bruno's 'Orizzonte Perduto' at Simondi Gallery, Turin

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Gianfranco Botto and Roberta Bruno, who make up the artistic duo Botto & Bruno, are showcasing their new exhibition, 'Orizzonte Perduto,' at Simondi Gallery in Turin. Unlike their earlier instinctive photography, this exhibit takes a more reflective stance, drawing inspiration from classic Old Master paintings. A prominent large wallpaper, featuring works from European greats like Nicolas Poussin and Andrea del Sarto, takes center stage. Over a period of nine months, they assembled these fragments to tell a new story about the modern European landscape. The show also features 'Eterni ritorni I–IV,' which merges archival images with artistic elements to explore themes of rebirth and decay. Interestingly, they first opened this gallery nearly 20 years ago using a similar innovative wallpaper technique.
