festival-fair · 2026-04-22

Bottega Veneta staged an immersive art event called Waves at Concrete in Dubai, blending music and visual art under creative director Matthieu Blazy. Lebanese architect Carl Gerges collaborated with Blazy to design the atmospheric setting, featuring burnt yellow seating that evoked desert dunes. Lebanese artist Tarek Atoui contributed a sound installation that transformed the space into a living soundscape, encouraging multi-sensory engagement beyond passive listening. Performers included Palestinian-Jordanian singer Zeyne, Palestinian-Canadian singer Nehmasis, Kuwaiti artist and composer Fatima Al Qadiri, Egyptian singer and composer Dina El Wedidi, and Bachir Attar, leader of Morocco's Master Musicians of Jajouka. Their work highlighted the fusion of ancient Sufi traditions with contemporary expression, showcasing the Middle East's ability to blend heritage with innovation. Gerges described the event as creating an immersive landscape centered on cultural exchange, while Atoui emphasized transforming how audiences engage with sound. The fashion house aimed to deepen its commitment to arts and culture through this multidisciplinary experience, which emphasized generational creativity and modernity.
