Bot-House: A Family Home with a 25-Metre Pool Spine by SON Architecture
SON Architecture has completed Bot-House, a family home on the Maltese islands, featuring a 25-metre pool as its spine and a central light-well with perfectly round glass plates. The 750 m² project, completed in 2023, was led by architects Mark Peregin and Mark Sullivan. The clients, a couple committed to early education, purchased a former kindergarten site adjacent to an industrial estate, seeing potential where others saw blight. The design transforms the challenging location into a desirable residence. Photographs by Julian Vassallo document the house, which incorporates materials from manufacturers including Fino, JSD Group, Micallef Pool, R.Lautier, Rado Flooring, and Saint Anthony WW. Structural engineering was provided by MA Architects, with Rite-Decor as main contractor. The project was curated by Hadir Al Koshta.
