Boss Doms' new music video 'Pretty Face' features fan reactions as contemporary art installation

digital · 2026-04-27

Italian music producer Boss Doms (Edoardo Manozzi) released his second solo single 'Pretty Face' featuring Kyle Pearce on February 26, 2021. The music video, created in collaboration with contemporary artist Fabio Weik (born 1984, Milan, graffiti writer since 1997, TDK crew member), features selected fans listening to the track in a reconstructed live environment with loud music and blinding lights; their natural reactions were recorded and used as the video's visual content. The project also involves photographer Gabriele Giussani, who shot Boss Doms, with support from Milan-based fashion and digital brand ABM – A Better Mistake (founded 2019, focused on gender-fluid fashion). The video aims to provoke reflection on individuality and resistance to social media beauty standards and homogenization. Boss Doms described the installation as a non-verbal dialogue of emotions, emphasizing that fans were chosen via a Telegram call based on their faces and enthusiasm. Weik noted the project merges art, music, photography, and fashion coherently, calling it an 'experience' rather than a traditional artwork. The video was produced during the COVID-19 pandemic, with sanitized environments and COVID tests for participants, allowing them to remove masks. Boss Doms previously collaborated with singer Achille Lauro, from whom he separated artistically in 2020, and has since released solo work including the single 'I Want More' and remixes.
