Bose Krishnamachari to Curate First Yinchuan Biennale in Northwest China

On 9 September 2016, the Yinchuan Biennale will debut at the Museum of Contemporary Art Yinchuan, a new facility created by waa (we architects anonymous) set within a wetlands park in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region's capital, China. Curated by Bose Krishnamachari, an artist from Kerala and co-founder of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, the event, titled 'For an Image, Faster than Light,' will showcase around 80 artists producing site-specific installations. Krishnamachari shared with The Hindu that the biennale will use China as a foundation to delve into topics such as spiritual and social awareness, political stories, and global interaction. Notable participants include Abigail Reynolds, Lala Rukh, Newsha Tavakolian, Santiago Sierra, Song Dong, and Liu Wei. The exhibition will continue until 18 December 2016.
