Boros Collection's Berlin Bunker Showcases Second Exhibition with Local and International Artists

Christian and Karen Boros have transformed a former Third Reich bunker in Berlin into a private art venue displaying their collection of approximately 700 works since 2007. The space, known as 'the bunker,' operates by appointment only and currently features its second exhibition, which opened in September with a more subdued presentation than the inaugural show. This exhibition highlights significant Berlin-based artists including Klara Lidén, Wolfgang Tillmans, and Michael Sailstorfer, alongside emerging duo Awst & Walther. Chinese artist Ai Weiwei also appears prominently in the current installation. Beyond the bunker, Christian Boros maintains part of his advertising agency in a converted pumping station elsewhere in the city and founded Distanz Verlag, a publishing house producing high-quality art books at a rapid pace of two per week. Karen Boros has directed VIP programs for Art Basel's various international editions since 2005. The bunker has become an established fixture on Berlin's contemporary art circuit despite opening just five years ago.
