Boron: The Element of Place Tour with CLUI

The Center for Land Use Interpretation (CLUI) organized a day trip to Boron, California, on May 31, 2023. The guided tour started in Culver City, gathered at the CLUI Desert Research Station, and explored sites around the Boron area. Locations visited included the largest open pit mine in California, the world's largest solar power plant, a mountaintop rocket test site, and an abandoned federal prison. The event was part of CLUI's ongoing program to interpret and document human-altered landscapes.
