Borgo Universo returns to Aielli for third edition blending street art and astronomy
From August 1 to 4, 2019, Aielli, L'Aquila, will host the third edition of Borgo Universo, a festival celebrating street art, astronomy, music, and performance. This event seeks to bridge street art with astronomy, highlighting Aielli's Torre delle Stelle, the tallest astronomical observatory in central Italy. Fabrizio Ciaralli, the organizer, refers to it as "a radical idea from below." This year, the association has broadened its artistic scope, inviting international artists to explore their connection to the universe. The theme, "Opening to the World," will feature 15 existing artworks and five new street art installations. Notable guest Okuda San Miguel will present his Pop Surrealism, alongside concerts, DJ sets, theater, and performances, including Nu Giunea.
