Borderline: New Independent Art Space Opens on Lake Lugano

exhibition · 2026-04-26

On March 22, a new independent art venue named Borderline will launch in Valsolda, Italy, located at Via Fogazzaro 1. The space is established by a group of seven founders, including Michele Robecchi, Harry Druzd, and Riccardo Lisi, with artist Sebastian Bradley Cerny serving as president. The opening exhibition, titled "In Bloom," is curated by Lisi and will highlight pop artworks by Cerny alongside pieces from journalist Jonas Marti, featuring contributions from Druzd. The facility will also include a skateboard ramp and plans to present outdoor installations, beginning with Franco Mazzucchelli's 1939 floating sculpture "BD – Bicono." Borderline seeks to enrich the art landscape in Como province while engaging with the independent scene in Ticino and venues like Co.CO (Como Contemporanea).
