Bordear Exhibition at Museo Palacio de Autonomia in Mexico City Explores Border Art Beyond US-Mexico
The exhibition titled 'Bordear. Una idea de frontera' is currently on display at the Museo Palacio de Autonomia, Fundación UNAM in Mexico City, and will be available until March 16, 2025. Curated by Anne-Laure Amilhat Szary, Andrea Masala, and Procuradoría, it showcases six pieces from international artists. The opening symposium, 'Pushing Border Art's Borders,' took place on January 31 and addressed themes such as ecology, migration, and transborder art. Featured artists include Border Forensics, Pierre Valls, Ingrid Hernandez, Cassandra Mayela, Yeni Mao, and Rubén Ulises Rodríguez Montoya, with works encompassing video, sculpture, photography, and textiles. Notably, Border Forensics' piece 'Blessing Matthew' examines the death of a Nigerian woman on May 9, 2018. This exhibition is part of the STARCH doctoral program.
