Boosta Opens Sonogramma, a New Art Space in Turin

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Davide Dileo, known as Boosta, keyboardist and co-founder of the Italian band Subsonica, has opened a new artist studio called Sonogramma in Turin's quadrilatero romano district, overlooking the Santuario della Consolata. The space, a former ceramics laboratory, is dedicated to exploring sound as an artistic medium. The inaugural exhibition, Act I. Octaves, opens on October 12 and features two analog sound works that create a sense of detachment from urban noise, alongside a series of photographs titled Tools, which depict close-ups of his musical instruments that morph into Rorschach-like images. A vintage Olivetti filing cabinet contains drawers with written scores made of strokes and images, allowing for variable interpretation by performers. Sonogramma will host a series of exhibitions in collaboration with Turin-based gallery Weber & Weber and London-based Studio Expanded, the new artistic agency of Italian curator Valeria Facchin Szabò, former director of the Fondazione Nicoletta Fiorucci. Facchin Szabò curated the space and manages Dileo's career, including his Gallerie Sonore tour at Intesa Sanpaolo's Gallerie d'Italia. Dileo describes the studio as an intimate space that captures the present moment and allows for artistic progression. The space is also open to collaboration with other artists and musicians, reflecting a communal exchange.
