Booming Contemporary Art Show Debuts in Bologna with Eco-Focus

The inaugural Booming Contemporary Art Show took place in Bologna from January 23 to 26, 2020, under the direction of Simona Gavioli and co-direction of Nina Stricker. Highlighting contemporary issues and experimentation, the event showcased a mechanical arm sculpture by Leandro Summo and featured a performance by Romeo Castellucci within the renovated DumBO. With 31 galleries exhibiting works from 100 artists, the fair is divided into two sections: "Climax," which tackles environmental crises, and "I FEMMINISMI," which delves into feminist topics. Among the featured artists are Letizia Battaglia, Silvia Levenson, and MadMeg. The fair promotes sustainability through awards, discussions, residency projects, and is entirely plastic-free, offering water dispensers and bike-sharing options.
