BOOMing Art Fair Moves to Palazzo Isolani for 2025 Edition

The fifth edition of BOOMing, the Bologna art fair directed by critic and curator Simona Gavioli, will take place from February 6 to 9, 2025, at Palazzo Isolani, near the Two Towers. The fair has moved from its previous location at DUMBO to the historic 18th-century palace, a shift supported by Gavioli and Doc Creativity president Daniela Furlani. The new venue aims to foster a dialogue between the city's history and contemporary art, 'infesting' the decorated halls with contemporary works. The fair will feature 21 galleries, including Bi-Box, D406 Disegno Contemporaneo, and Boa Spazio Arte. Performances include Dora Musola's 'Costellazioni familiari,' descending the helical staircase by Vignola, and Giulio Boccardi's 'Sodalizio,' a ritual centered on a fir tree in the Sala dell'Alcova. Livio Ninni, winner of the third edition of the Sustainability Art Giorgio Morandi Prize, will also participate. The 'Intrecci' program explores themes of wild herbs versus consumer smoothness, with artists Leonardo Panizza, micc, Thomas De Falco, Eva Fruci, Monica Smaniotto, and Nadia Tamanini. The fair has a three-year plan with Palazzo Isolani, aiming to attract a dynamic audience interested in urgent themes like feminism and the environment.
