Book Pride Genova 2018 Returns to Palazzo Ducale with 80+ Publishers

festival-fair · 2026-05-04

Book Pride, the national fair for independent publishing organized by ODEI – Osservatorio degli Editori Indipendenti, returns to Genoa for its second edition from September 28 to 30, 2018, at Palazzo Ducale. The event, themed 'Tutti i viventi,' responds to the city's mood after the Morandi Bridge collapse. Over 80 publishers from across Italy will participate, with a strong Ligurian representation. New this year is Book Pride Off, involving renowned local cultural spaces. Returning is Book Young, a dedicated area for children and teens. Exhibitions include one on Eva Kant, Diabolik's partner, curated by Astorina and Romics, and another based on the graphic novel 'Salvezza' by Marco Rizzo and Lelio Bonaccorso, depicting migrant rescues aboard the Aquarius. Designer Maurizio Ceccato will lead two talks, one on editorial graphics and another on Bruno Munari, marking 20 years since his death. Book Young features workshops with illustrators like Marco Somà and an exhibition of Gianni De Conno's illustrations. Evening events at venues like Luzzati Lab, Teatro Altrove, and various bookshops round out the program.
