Book explores timeless Italian packaging design
Journalist Camilla Sernagiotto has published "Senza scadenza. L’intramontabile packaging made in Italy" (Ultra, 2023), a photographic book examining iconic Italian packaging that has remained unchanged for decades. The book covers over sixty stories from design, costume, and entrepreneurship history, including the Campari Soda bottle designed by Fortunato Depero in 1932, the easy-open anchovy tin launched by Rizzoli Emanuelli & C. in 1913, and Ugo Mutti's 1951 tomato concentrate tube with a reusable red Bakelite cap. The project follows in the footsteps of Fattobene, an online archive of archetypal products started by Anna Lagorio and Alex Carnevali in 2005.
