Book and Bed concept arrives in Naples from Tokyo

The Japanese Book and Bed concept, a hybrid of hostel, library, and bookstore, has opened in Naples' Vomero district. The second Mooks Mondadori bookstore in the area, located on Via Luca Giordano, spans two floors: a ground-floor bookstore and a first-floor B&B with hundreds of books and sleeping nooks, inspired by Tokyo's original Book and Bed which launched in 2016 with over 1,700 titles. The space occupies the former Bellavia pastry shop, chosen for its historical significance. The project aims to meet local demand for cultural spaces. Completion awaits further structural work. Meanwhile, events like author meetings and forums are held downstairs. Other similar spaces include Florence's Hotel Il Salviatino, Zurich's B2 Boutique Hotel + Spa with 33,000 books, and Paris Butik in the Marais with 4,500 volumes.
