Bonhams Launches Espionage Sale with Bond Sub and Enigma Machine

From May 18 to 28, Bonhams will conduct an online auction titled Espionage: Fact and Fiction on bonhams.com, showcasing a blend of historical artifacts and cinematic props related to espionage. Among the items is a unique 3-rotor Heimsoeth & Rinke Enigma I cipher machine from around 1941, with an estimated value of £120,000-160,000. Also featured is the Scubacraft SC3 prototype from the James Bond movie Spectre, a fully functional vehicle. Fred Lawton, Head of Sale, remarked that the auction highlights creativity and innovation, merging reality with fantasy. The collection includes gadgets and props from the Bond franchise as well as authentic Enigma machines from the Second World War.
