Bong Joon Ho and Gabriele Muccino Films Hit Italian Theaters
Two films by Oscar-winning director Bong Joon Ho are currently screening in Italian cinemas: 'Parasite', which won Best Picture at the 2020 Oscars, and 'Memories of Murder', his 2003 second feature. The latter is based on the novel 'Come and See Me' and recounts South Korea's first serial killer case between 1986 and 1991, focusing on the inadequate local police investigation and the arrival of a more competent detective from Seoul. Meanwhile, Gabriele Muccino's new film 'Gli anni più belli' (The Best Years) is released by 01Distribution. The film follows protagonist Giulio Ristuccia from age 16 to 40, exploring friendship and life choices, and is seen as a spiritual sequel to Muccino's earlier 'Come te nessuno mai'. The soundtrack features Claudio Baglioni's music and voice. Both films are now in theaters.
