Bondi Beach Villa by Common Office Balances Privacy and Public Context

architecture-design · 2026-05-21

Common Office has finalized the Bondi Beach Villa, a 516 m² residential development in Australia, set for completion in 2025. The design effectively addresses its location by harmonizing private living spaces with the surrounding public area. This project required a sophisticated planning approach, involving numerous applications and discussions with the local council, emphasizing the alignment and quantity of arches to complement the streetscape. The lead architects are Rob Meyerson and William J McKee, supported by project designer Michael Cho and graduate architect Manuel Hankoo. The construction team includes Ivison Constructions, structural engineer ABVD, services engineer ERBAS, project manager Richard Pajor from Cardo Projects, interior designer Handelsman + Khaw, planner GSA Planning, and landscape architect Myles Baldwin Design. Photography is credited to Tom Ross and Anson Smart.
