Bolzano's Art Scene: Museion, Fondazione Dalle Nogare, and Transart Festival

Bolzano's cultural scene is thriving with major exhibitions and events. At Museion, the exhibition "Techno" runs until March 2022, part of the broader TECHNO HUMANITIES project (2021–2023) by director Bart van der Heide. The show explores themes of freedom, exhaustion, and compression through works by artists like James Richards, Jan Vorisek, Riccardo Benassi, and others. At Fondazione Antonio Dalle Nogare, the first Italian retrospective of Charlotte Posenenske, "From B to E and more," curated by Vincenzo de Bellis, is on view until May 2022. Posenenske's minimalist, serial works challenge the art market by being sold at production cost. The Transart Festival (September 9–24, 2021) featured Peaches' world premiere performance "Cranky Pants" at Rothoblaas factory, and Isabel Lewis's "DAY RAVE" at the former Alperia power station. The festival also included the first Bolzano Art Weeks (BAW) with over 80 events.
