Bologna to Host Major Lucio Dalla Exhibition for 10th Death Anniversary

A major exhibition dedicated to Lucio Dalla, the celebrated Italian singer-songwriter and art collector, will open in Bologna on March 4, 2022, marking the 10th anniversary of his death and his 80th birthday. The show, titled 'Lucio Dalla: Universo Dalla', runs until July 17, 2022, at the Museo Civico Archeologico before traveling to Rome (Ara Pacis, September 22, 2022), Naples, and Milan in 2023. Curated by Alessandro Nicosia (president of C.O.R., the company behind the Arte in Nuvola fair) in collaboration with the Fondazione Lucio Dalla, the exhibition spans over 1,000 square meters and features more than ten sections, including previously unseen materials such as photographs, films, stage costumes, and documents. Sections cover Dalla's family, childhood, friendships, musical beginnings, his clarinet, his art collection (which includes works from the 16th century to contemporary), his relationships with cinema, theater, television, and his hometown Bologna. The Fondazione Lucio Dalla, established in 2014 in his 15th-century palazzo home, aims to preserve his memory. The exhibition is promoted by the Comune di Bologna and the Regione Emilia-Romagna, with President Stefano Bonaccini praising Dalla as a multifaceted artist who was also an actor, writer, theater director, sports enthusiast, and motor lover.
