Bologna's Art Week: Setup, Paratissima, and Fruit Exhibition Redefine the Fair Landscape

During Bologna's art week, three alternative fairs—Setup, Paratissima, and Fruit Exhibition—offered options alongside Arte Fiera. Setup moved to Palazzo Pallavicini, with participants decreasing from 60 to 39, comprising 34 galleries and 5 cultural organizations such as Fondazione Tiziano Campolmi and Fondazione Rocco Guglielmo. Curated by Manuela Valentini, a section named Break showcased pieces not linked to the theme of waiting. Paratissima made its Bologna debut at IAAD, featuring 87 emerging artists selected from 130 submissions by Francesca Canfora, with the venue redesigned to include custom stands and live music. The sixth edition of Fruit Exhibition primarily showcased deconstructed publications, spotlighting contributions from Manticora Autoproduzioni, Studio Saòr, Giada Fuccelli, and the Queer Culture Illustrated Guide.
