Bologna Live Arts Week Returns with 8th Edition Featuring Performance, Sound, and Installation

Bologna becomes a performance capital again with the eighth edition of Live Arts Week, organized by Xing. The event runs from April 4 to 13, 2025, with a prologue from April 4 to 7 and a main program from April 11 to 13. It features performances, situations, environments, and concerts across multiple locations, including Galleria P420, Parco della Montagnola, Chiesa Evangelica Metodista, Palazzo Volpe, Palazzo Pezzoli, and Pinacoteca di Bologna. Highlights include Michele Rizzo's 'Spacewalk' at Galleria P420 (April 4-5), exploring the boundary between real and virtual space; Doro Bengala's 'Fontana di Fuoco' at Parco della Montagnola (April 4), a sound performance reinterpreting fireworks; Ellen Arkbro and Marcus Pal's 'Chords' at Chiesa Evangelica Metodista (April 5-6), a concert for organ and computer; Catherine Christer Hennix's 'Soliton(e) Star / Zero-Time' at Palazzo Volpe (April 5-14), a 24-hour perceptual environment; Simon Vincenzi's 'From the Dead Air Orgy: The Song of Silenus' at Palazzo Pezzoli (April 11-13), an installation and performance exploring memory and oblivion; and Barokthegreat's 'Ghost' at Pinacoteca di Bologna (April 11-12), a footwork-inspired dance piece.
