Bologna Exhibition Traces Le Corbusier's Only Italian Building
In Bologna, the exhibit titled 'Phoenix. Il Padiglione de l’Esprit Nouveau tra ricostruzione e restauro' focuses on the Pavilion de l'Esprit Nouveau, the sole structure by Le Corbusier in Italy. This replica of the 1925 Paris pavilion was constructed in 1977 by Giuliano Gresleri, Glauco Gresleri, and José Oubrerie, and it reopened following restoration more than a year ago. The exhibition, curated by Maria Beatrice Bettazzi, Jacopo Gresleri, and Paolo Lipparini, with consultant Giuliano Gresleri, showcases drawings from the Historical Archive of the University of Bologna, models created by Syracuse University students, and films from 1977. Designed by Jacopo Gresleri, the display also incorporates contemporary art and preserves the original furnishings from 1925.
