Bolaffi Auction During Turin Art Week 2024 Features Boetti, Salvo, and Klimt
Aste Bolaffi will hold its Modern and Contemporary Art auction on November 5, 2024, in Turin, closing the city's art week led by Artissima. The auction features over 250 lots, with top works on view from October 31 at Sala Bolaffi. Highlights include Alighiero Boetti's tapestry "Segno e disegno" (1978, estimate €280,000-350,000) and his "Mimetismo" (1979, estimate €75,000-90,000), Salvo's "Primavera" (2006, estimate €75,000-90,000), and a Gustav Klimt drawing "Studio per il ritratto di Sonja Knips" (1898, estimate €28,000-35,000). Salvo is also the subject of a major retrospective at Pinacoteca Agnelli opening November 1. A terracotta sculpture by Antonio Ligabue, "Albero con cane e gatto" (1952-1953, estimate €30,000-40,000), appears at auction in Italy for the first time. Other notable lots include works by Emilio Scanavino, Carla Accardi, Emilio Isgrò, Ottone Rosai, and two serigraph panels by Giacomo Balla from Casa Balla in Rome.
