Bodies in Frames: Seven Contemporary Photographers Explore the Human Body

The third issue of Artribune's Focus Moda features a philanthropic initiative titled "Bodies in Frames" in its "Spazio Espositivo" section, presenting a curated selection of unpublished images by seven contemporary photographers. The project aims to foster critical reflection on the role and perception of bodies in modern society, addressing the interplay of physical and virtual elements in human identity. Featured artists include Alessia Caliendo, a creative director based in Milan known for dark, surreal imagery exploring body, nature, and the occult; Marta Blue, a German photographer and former acrobat who uses self-portraits to capture impossible poses, emphasizing sculptural qualities; an unnamed artist from the Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi territory in Australia investigating motherhood; a photographer working between Milan and Madrid focusing on sexuality, femininity, and textures; Giulio Michelini, a visual artist in Tuscia whose "Bloom Forever" project (launched in 2023) is the world's first botanical Instaserie, blending fashion, music, and psychedelic themes; Henriette Sabroe Ebbesen, a self-taught Copenhagen-based photographer exploring the intersection of science and art through distortions of reality; and Yis Kid, a Spanish-born London-based artist depicting dehumanized figures as symbols of the digital and ethereal. Alessia Caliendo curated the selection, with Marta Blue's recent exhibition hosted by Fiuto Art Space and curated by Alex Urso.
