Bob Dylan's Lost 1956 Lyric Sheet Emerges at Omega Auctions Among High-Value Collectibles
A typed lyric sheet for Bob Dylan's 'I'm Not There,' written in 1956, has surfaced after nearly 60 years hidden in a first-edition paperback of Allen Ginsberg's 1968 poem Ankor Wat. Omega Auctions in the U.K. will sell it on April 21 with an estimate of £20,000–£40,000. The document, a draft for the song recorded with The Band around 1967 and released in 2007, was discovered by a book dealer after the death of Sally Grossman, wife of Dylan's former manager Albert Grossman. Dylan's lyrics have a strong market history, including a $500,000 sale for 'Mr. Tambourine Man' drafts in 2025 and a $2.5 million sale for 'The Times They Are A-Changin'' in March 2026. Other notable auctions include Stephen Curry's sneakers at Sotheby's through April 28, with bidding up to $65,000; a Star Wars-themed sale at Heritage Auctions on May 4; and rare Billy the Kid photos at Lee Fox Auctions on April 25. A signed Hermann Struck etching of Albert Einstein is at RR Auction until April 23, and Sotheby's Rock & Pop sale from April 9–23 features guitars from Noel Gallagher and Elvis Presley. Julien's Auctions is offering over 500 items from And Just Like That… through May 1. Additionally, the Lyme Regis Museum in Dorset, U.K., acquired a rare letter fragment by paleontologist Mary Anning for £12,000 after a crowdfunding campaign, set for display in June.
