BoA Spazio Arte Opens 'Negazione e disincanto' in Bologna

BoA Spazio Arte, a gallery founded in 2023 by Margherita Maccaferri at Via Barberia 24/A in Bologna, is dedicated to supporting emerging contemporary artists. The gallery gained visibility through participation in Art City 2024 (promoted by Arte Fiera), Open Tour 2024 (organized by the Accademia delle Belle Arti di Bologna), and The Other Art Fair 2024 in Turin. From September 17 to November 1, 2025, it hosts the exhibition 'Negazione e disincanto,' featuring works by the Turin-based collective Opiemme and Genoese artist Defe (Alessio Defendini). The exhibition explores the relationship between humans and nature, using the butterfly as a symbol of inner transformation and adaptation amid climate change. It contrasts an analog past with a digital present and critiques the lack of commitment to environmental protection. Defe describes the terms 'negazione' and 'disincanto' as positive, interdependent concepts that shed their negative semantics. Maccaferri calls the show an invitation to collective introspection, urging awareness and responsibility in the face of the environmental crisis.
