festival-fair · 2026-05-05

Rome will host the inaugural BNL Media Art Festival, Italy's first event focused on digital art, from April 13 to 17. This festival, organized by Fondazione Mondo Digitale in partnership with BNL Gruppo BNP Paribas, will take place primarily at MAXXI and will feature works from over 70 artists across 21 nations. Involving 5,000 students from 12 Italian schools, the festival spans eight venues, including the Palestra dell'Innovazione and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (Mibact). Notable participants include Antoni Muntadas, a historical media artist, and Gerfried Stocker from Ars Electronica Linz, who will lead various educational sessions. Alfonso Molina emphasized the festival's goal of merging art and technology to inspire younger audiences.
