Blumarine's post-apocalyptic show at Milan Fashion Week

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

During Milan Fashion Week, Blumarine presented its autumn-winter 2023/24 collection in a post-apocalyptic setting with rocks, soil, and a flaming logo. Creative director Nicola Brognano, in collaboration with stylist Lotta Volkova, revived the brand's early 2000s aesthetic with a harder edge. The collection featured draped jersey armor, long coats, bombers with shearling collars, transparent georgette dresses with asymmetrical lengths, and sensual knitwear with iconic roses. Accessories included shoulder bags, leather wristbands, and stiletto heels. The show was set to music by Michel Gaubert. Blumarine was founded in 1977 in Carpi by Gianpaolo Tarabini and Anna Molinari, who presented her first collection in 1981. The brand became known for its delicate knitwear, crystal-embellished T-shirts, and the Bluvi cardigan with mink collar. Anna Molinari collaborated with photographer Helmut Newton, and models such as Nadja Auermann, Monica Bellucci, Eva Herzigova, and Carla Bruni represented the brand. After a period of eclipse due to minimalism and brutalism, Blumarine re-emerged under Brognano and Volkova.
