BLUE Architecture Studio and Southeast University transform Yangzhou's Guangling district into a 40-room hotel complex

So, there’s this new hotel complex called Jiangnan House Yangzhou Guangling in the historic downtown area of Yangzhou, China. It was designed by BLUE Architecture Studio along with the Urban Architecture Lab from Southeast University and is part of a plan to revitalize the city. Covering 4,250 square meters in Guangling Ancient City, it includes 40 guest rooms and various amenities. Guests enter through a revamped old cinema that serves as the lobby, keeping its Art Deco style intact. The layout features a mix of timber, brick, and concrete buildings around cozy courtyards. Shuhei Aoyama from BLUE Studio highlighted that the project aims to blend traditional culture with modern design, celebrating local craftsmanship.
