Blub's #lartesanuotare Exhibition at MANN Napoli Merges Ancient Art with Underwater Fantasy
At the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli (MANN), artist Blub showcases #lartesanuotare, transforming the Sala del Plastico di Pompei into a captivating underwater realm filled with reinterpreted ancient sculptures and frescoes. Featured pieces include representations of Terentius Neo and his spouse, Sappho, as well as original bronze works like the Efebo di via dell’Abbondanza and marble Venuses. The atmosphere is enriched by a blue lighting scheme and a video created by Riccardo Sansone. In April 2019, Blub installed over forty artworks throughout Naples, portraying icons from Salvador Dalí to Amy Winehouse. Blub remarked, “Even in a sea of difficulties, we always have the resources to learn to swim. Art is one of those resources.” His urban art movement has expanded to various cities since 2013.
