BLOOP Festival transforms Ibiza with street art and augmented reality
The BLOOP Festival, curated by Milan-based Biokip Labs, returns to Ibiza from late August to September 8, 2018, with the theme HOPE. Over two weeks, international artists create murals that become permanent additions to the island's cultural heritage, with 25 murals now part of an open-air gallery across Sant'Antoni and Evissa. The festival has grown to attract over 90,000 visitors per edition and has involved more than 150 artists, including Okuda, Phlegm, David de la Mano, and B-Giocattolo. A new app, OpenAir.Gallery, uses augmented reality to provide instant information about each mural. BLOOP also features music, new media art, painting, sculpture, design, and photography, with free workshops for children, embodying its motto 'Art for all.'
