Bloomberg leaks Apple's AI-powered Siri app to rival ChatGPT

Bloomberg has published leaked renders of Apple's planned AI upgrade for iPhone, including a new Siri app designed to compete with ChatGPT and other AI chatbots. The images, produced by Bloomberg based on sources, show that in iOS 27, Siri's animation and response will emerge from the Dynamic Island for quick voice queries. A new mode integrates Siri-powered search via the swipe-down gesture for Spotlight Search, using a rebuilt AI model that incorporates Google's Gemini AI technology. The interface displays results in formatted text within a card-style design from the Dynamic Island. Apple is partnering with outside AI providers while developing its own local models to maintain privacy. A standalone Siri app will allow users to view chat history and upload documents and photos. Apple's install base of 2.5 billion devices gives it a significant advantage over ChatGPT's 900 million weekly active users.
