Blinn & Lambert's 'New Grey Planet' Exhibition at Microscope Gallery Explores CGI and Objecthood

exhibition · 2026-04-22

From January 14, 2018, to December 15, 2017, the Microscope Gallery in Brooklyn presented 'New Grey Planet,' an exhibition by the artistic duo Blinn & Lambert, consisting of Nicholas Steindorf and Kyle Williams, who began collaborating in 2016. The showcase included two video pieces: 'New Grey Planet: Chapter 1' and 'New Grey Planet: Library,' complemented by installations featuring found glass objects and sculptures displayed on glass tables, illuminated with blue and red light to cast intricate shadows visible through 3D glasses. A prominent CGI video provided a contrasting visual experience. Additionally, the exhibition featured 'Only Doe, a Deer,' which drew inspiration from Balthus and filmmakers such as Stan Brakhage. Soundtracks enriched the videos, and the artists embraced Object Oriented Ontology, focusing on the intrinsic value of nonhuman entities.
